Safeguarding

Keeping everyone safe is our priority.

We're committed to providing a safe, supportive environment for children, young people and adults — where everyone can train with confidence.

Our commitment

Safeguarding is not "one policy" — it's how we run the academy day to day.

All instructors are first aid trained.
Safeguarding is on-site during all sessions.
We aim to provide a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every child, young person and adult.
We take concerns seriously and will act promptly.
We have an independent Designated Safeguarding Officer who is completely separate from the academy.

Independent oversight

Designated Safeguarding Officer

To follow proper safeguarding guidelines and to make sure you feel safe and happy with what we do at the academy, we have our own Designated Safeguarding Officer who is completely separate from the academy. This means there is always an independent person you can contact if any problems arise — someone who holds us accountable.

Marshall Willock — Designated Safeguarding Officer
Designated Safeguarding Lead

Marshall Willock

Marshall is completely independent from the academy. His role is to ensure proper safeguarding guidelines are followed, that members feel safe, and that the academy is held accountable.

What we do

Practical safeguarding in every session.

Safe, structured sessions

Classes are supervised, age-appropriate and taught with clear boundaries and expectations.

Clear behaviour standards

We promote respect, discipline and positive conduct in line with our academy values.

Trained team

Our instructors are trained and experienced in working with children and families, with first aid on site.

Prompt incident handling

Incidents are rare and usually minor (e.g. stubbed toes, nose bleeds). If something happens, we respond quickly using our first aid protocols.
